How to Enroll a Military Student

Background

The Stratatech enrollment system supports applications for Military Tuition Pricing (MTP). The workflow for military applications is very similar to traditional applications with a couple added steps.

New workflow as of November 18, 2021

Before this date students were stopped at the Military page of the application if they chose to apply for MTP. Going forward students will need to submit their application for MTP before the Financial Aid Rep can review it. This will allow applications that are approved for MTP to be fully processed without further input from the student.

Applying for Military Pricing

To begin the student starts filling an application as normal. If they select anything other than None for the military status question, their application is marked Pending Military. Before a Financial Aid Representative can review their app the student will need to complete and submit their application.

The Enrollment Agreement for the application will reflect Military Tuition Pricing so that if the student is approved the application can be processed without further input from the student. Details on how to reject applications for military tuition pricing are below. The registration fee will also be waived.

Reviewing Military Pending Applications

Once a military pending application is submitted, a Financial Aid Representative can login and review the application. There is a dropdown selector on the admin home page that can be used to filter for Military Pending applications.

Once they have found a student they want to review the FA Rep can click their row in the search results to view more information about the student. When an FA Rep views a student’s page who is military pending they will see an Update Military Status button.

Clicking the Update Military Status button will display all the student’s military information and any documents they uploaded. From here the FA Rep can approve or reject they military status.

Approving Military Applications

Applications that are approved by Financial Aid Representatives are ready to be signed by the campus president. Nothing further needs to happen here.

Rejecting Military Applications

Applications that are rejected for military pricing are no longer accessible to the student. If an application is rejected for MTP the student will need to start and fill a new application. When they do this all their answers to questions, other than the military status question, will be carried over from the previous application.

In this situation the student can choose None for their military status, in which case they will be shown an enrollment agreement with normal tuition. Students can also select a military status in this scenario and submit new or different information if they need to change their initial answers to the military questions.

Signing Military Applications

Once a military application has been approved by the Financial Aid Representative, the Campus Representative and then Campus President can sign it as usual. The signature process is the same for military applications as it is for non-military applications.
